I saw both bikes on the Brussels motorshow. At this moment I try to sell my Monster M1100 from 2010 with 3111 km on it. When my bike is sold, I will place an order for a Hyperstrada or a Hypermotard with a lot of options. I hope ASAP!!!!!!!!

Problem at this moment: the misses don't like the ride on the Monster because it's not very comfortable. For me a Multistrada is to expensive because I do less than 4-5000km a year. I'm charmed by the new Hyperstrada but also by the new hypermotard.

The reason for my doubt are the colour combinations. I like the white one very much, but for me a Ducati must be red. On a red Hyperstrada the rear chassis is silver and I don't like that. On a red hypermotard it's dark grey on a red chassis which it's much more beautiful (for me).
I used the configurator and a red hypermotard with passenger grab handles, lower touring seat, carbon headlight fairing and engine guard kit is about 600 euro cheaper than a hyperstrada. But then you don't have the sidecases (745 euro) and no 2 12v plugs. So a lot of "big" problems:rolleyes::D:D

My dealer told me that the presentation will be end of march. I friend of my gives sales and a little bit of technical trainig for Ducati (also BMW and Ferrari) and he's in Bologna at this moment!!! Problem is that he won't give me the latest information or pictures:(

PS: sorry for my bad Englisch but I'm not used to write on English forums!

Welcome gkmapv! your English is just fine. I was able to sell my Monster last fall. I lucked out, a friend of a friend wanted it so I didn't have to advertise it. Now it is just the waiting game for the Hyperstrada to show up at my dealer.

today I got a fair offer from my dealer so "the big discussion" with the misses can start.

This is exactly the thinking that's happening with me as well: Hyerstrada or perhaps Hypermotard. I've already bought the 'strada, but I could change that for the 'motard if I like. If I do stick with the 'strada, I think I will unbolt the bag mounts entirely and just use them if I actually do go on a long, overnight, ride.

The only reason I'm not 100% sure is I really do prefer the colour options for the Hypermotard and I don't need half of the added features of the 'strada. What I do like better about the Hyperstrada for certain is the wider seat, grab bar [which for me is a place to put a small duffel bag], sump guard, longer mudguards and windscreen.

But hey, talk about a nice problem to have: choosing between these awesome bikes!! :D

that's also my opinion! I'm not a photoshop man but I would like to see the stickerset of the Hypermotard SP on a white hyperstrada. I think it will be much sportier like a Multistrada Pike Peaks.

The mean reason why I would buy a hyperstrada is the better seat en het grab bars for the misses. This evening a big discussion "I hope":)

I have never liked the look of bags on motorcycles, yet many times I've needed something to carry my belongings. I usually use a tailbag for that. But for some reason, when I first saw pictures of the Hyperstrada, with the luggage attached, I thought it looked perfect. Most likely I will use a tailbag for around town stuff (gym, work) and take off the side bags, but for day/night trips I will use all three and know it won't affect the great looks of the bike IMO. Either way I'll still have a 450lb bike with 110hp!!!:)

btw: what does stickerset mean?

The hypermotard sp has basically the same fairings as the white hyperstrada but it has black and red stickers that gives it a more agressive look.. I think they would look nice on the strada

Oh, thank you. I didn't read it as literally the stickers. The red frame would look sweet on the 'Strade too.

I'm totally with you on this, Cool! Most m/cycle panniers/ bags are either of the shapeless black plastic type, or on adventure bikes aluminium boxes that resemble small shipping containers - and VERY non-aerodynamic! The Hyperstrada's panniers seem to me to be very shapely, fully in keeping with the overall lines and looks of the bike. The brushed metal badge with "Ducati" embossed on it adds a certain flair, too, IMHO. I'm just a bit unsure how they -being a sort-of semi-rigid fabric I believe - will stand up to sunlight, it being the tropics here with lots of fierce hot sun: I'd hate to see them fade, as many other bags do (such as V******, turning an ugy sort of brownish-grey colour). So like you I'll use a small tail bag (case, actually) for day-to-day needs on short outings, and retain the larger bags for overnight trips and extended riding. BTW - distributor here confirms production is commencing late Feb/ early March, first bikes should be here in April! I cannot wait! L of S.

it would look somewhat like this one. i reckon its only missing the engine guard. and it has a couple of carbon fiber goodies that come standard with the hypermotard sp... im not really sure how i feel about it

That looks pretty cool - almost as cool as a Hyperstrada! No disrespect at all, Mib, but I reckon I'd leave the styling to those design guru Italians at Ducati! L of S

I didnt design a thing.. I did it with the ducati configurator. Its a hypermotard sp with touring seat, wind shield and side bags. I always thought that if i ever bought a dicati it would be red (as it should be) but i couldnt take my eyes of the white one.

The white is gorgeous too. I think this bike, whether its red, white, adorned with full luggage or as naked as can be, is going to elicit excitement wherever you go. Any bike can take you from point A to point B...but this one will do it in style and fun!

I sat on a white hyperstrada and a black Hypermotard at the motorshow. The seat of the hyperstrada was very comfortable. The seat of the Hypermotard was a bit to hard for me.

The most I'm worried about are the bags. They are softcases i.s.o. hard cases. Of course it was a motorshow, so nobody pays attention to be careful with the bike. But when I was there the show was one week open and the bags were damaged very hard. A lot of stripes on top of them coming from the shoes.
I don't use bags, but I think when I have them, maybe I will do longer trips in the weekend. And of course it's easier when you park the bike; you can leave the helmets in the bags. Unfortunately I will have to take them of every time because of the lack of space in the garage.

Normaly next saturday I go to my dealer to order one! Got any of you some experience with an Iphone, GPS and Bleutooth on a motorbike?

It is the same with the cases of other bikes unless you have aluminium cases like on the BMW GSA.
Once you are used to the cases, you take care when you get on/of the bike.

I use a Tomtom rider 2 and i started with the bluetooth and my phone but I finally kept the tomtom only to enjoy the road. I can not talk at the phone when riding while it is not a problem in my car even if I try not to.
