OEM panniers, keys?

Hello all! I’ve just reserved myself a Hyperstrada ahead of some upcoming longer trips, however it does not have the OEM panniers included.

I’ve found a set on eBay and enquired about the keys for them and the seller has said that they got them second hand and their ignition keys fitted so assumed all do.

Is that the case? Didn’t seem right.

ESheen, welcome.

You're correct in that the seller is incorrect. They are factory keyed to parent bikes ignition key. Spare parts bag on new sale (for early gen) even came with a spare barrel lock for the top case, that was similarly keyed to ignition. You're ignition key will not work and they did not come with a valet type auxiliary key.

They're pretty basic barrel locks that I'm sure a lot of luggage systems use same style. I'm sure you could find a drop in set and it's not a terribly difficult job. I actually fitted some SS luggage to my HS and still have the OEM SS locks, which used a dedicated key (brand new, have everything). Give me a day or two and I'll see if they will work as I don't need them.
