Hello guy’s, im looking to switch tires to on/off road tires on my 2013 hyperstrada 821cc.

I do more and more of gravel road going at the cottage and would like to keep the bike instead of switching for a BMW GS bike. I love my Ducati

Anybody got feed back for me ?

Low ground clearance, 17" cast rims with compromise tires and the bike doesn't like to maneuver at low speeds. There have been guys running 50/50 tires like this guy. I run Pirelli Scorpion MT 90 A/T on my 950 KTM Adventure and it's sketchy in deep gravel and terrible in mud or slime. My 2016 Strada has Pirelli MT-60 front and rear and they're fine on the street and ok on hard packed dirt and a little loose gravel/dirt. I had TKC-80's on the KTM and the rear was fine but the front liked to washout in loose stuff. You'll be limited in your choices and it's up to you to decide what will work for you considering the amount of travel off road and your abilities. I rode across Newfoundland with my DR650 on the railbeds and dirt roads for about 1800km's and one guy had a DRZ400SM with TKC-80's and was fine. He also had more ground clearance and higher fenders. One other thing you should be aware of is that the breather for the timing belts is low and forward facing and if you're in deep water, you may end up filling the cavity with gunk. Having said that, the new Duc DesertX has basically the same engine and has the same configuration and i haven't heard any complaints although it has higher ground clearance. If you are determined to ride off-road, you may also want to think about a radiator guard. I bought mine off Aliexpress. It's a copy of a well known brand and it a fraction of the price. It may come in handy if you're travelling trails like the ones in the Gaspesie that have a lot of very sharp shale. Cheers from Sussex New Brunswick!👋

First I'd get a radiator guard. As far as graded gravel, I'd think that Pirelli scorpion rally STRs would be fine. I live on a dirt road, and I have them on my 821, and they work well on maintained dirt roads and on paved. People say they suck in mud - avoid mud. I've ridden them on wet dirt that is not mud yet, and they were OK. One thing with all these tires is they dull the handling a little. My next venture will be Dunlop Mutants - I suspect they'll be OK on dirt roads, gravel, and better on tarmac.

Have done thousands of km offroad, gravel roads with my 796 and I love it. Running Heidenau K60 scout front and Mitas E07+ rear, custom made engine guard and mounted 19" front wheel from multistrada enduro. Its not a ktm but its a fun and light bike

I live on a dirt road, and I had pirelli rally str on mine but it wasn't my cup of tea. Good tires, but I felt a loss of agility and speed on the street. I just put on Dunlop mutants and I like them better on the street - we'll see on the dirt. but from my house to paved road, they're doing fine..
