OMG, is this bike jinxed?

At 116 miles whilst out on a ride it dies on me (see "Dead in 12" thread). Had to get it towed home and then I trailered it to the dealer for them to reflash ECU etc. :(
On the way home, the spare trailer tire makes a run for it down the road, over the hedge and into the canal. New tire and wheel ordered. :(
Installed a Healtech gear position indicator which doesn't work on this bike, the Healtech guy says well at least we tried, send it back and we'll work on getting one for the bike.:(
Riding on Sunday and get a damn 4" nail in the rear tire with 229 miles on it. Now I gotta get a new tire and I dont think these Scorpions are gonna cut it as I dont ride off road and there are better road tires.:(

I think it must be jinxed. Clearly it will make your life a living hell. Best let me take it off your hands for you.

I know it isn't but the trailer tire/wheel taking off into the abyss is pretty funny.

Maybe I'm lucky my dealer still hasn't gotten mine in yet.

Ive had some problems too. I put a deposit on a hyperstrada 6 months ago. Two months ago i changed to the sp. I just wanted a little more bling, and figured that is was worth $1400 more. After dreaming about the bike and waiting for what seemed like an eternity it came in last thursday. Dealer then tells me there wasn't a clutch lever in the crate. He said they are looking around the shop to find something close, without any luck. I can have the bike but wont be able to ride it. Dealer says they found a bike in a showroom and they will next day air the lever to me saturday morning. I say, ok, i guess i dont have a choice. Sat 2:00pm no lever:mad:. I know dealer Is trying to make things right. I get fed up and take a lever off a 1988 atk 406mx I have. Its close and with minor machining i get it to work. Now i can finally try it out, with a marginally working clutch. This bike is totally NUTS. I love it, and have never ridden anything like it. I feel like a kid again. I understand "THE DUCATI SOUL" now. I can't live without my sp. TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT!:D I know now I'm so hooked I'll have to suffer though any problems that arise.

I wouldn't under estimate the stock tire, I know I did but I'm super surprised by how well it grips and with over 1600kms there is no sign of flat spots wearing into it

That SP rear tire is practically a slick. Sure it's very sticky.

HS stock scorpions are beyond my limits on the street so far. I've scrubbed to little under 1/2" on the rear with no scares. I can only get DTC to flicker when I crush it in 1st & 2nd in Sport mode (DTC 1). Very stable braking, too.

I just got the D616 installed on mine for better off road capability. I will circle back when I do some dirt roads on it... Better luck to you...

Looks like a well balanced tire. What's it like on the road and expected tread wear?

Hey, I told you guys back on May 18th that those are the ticket...

From what I read, I should expect to get about 3-5k miles from the rear and close to 10k from the front. The multistrada crowd seems to really like it. I have to say that on dry pavement I did not feel much difference from the scorpion trail. Maybe just a tad more road vibration.
