Which tires for the Hyperstrada?

Paris/France
The new 821 Hyper comes with 3 different types of tyres:
- Hyperstrada: Pirelli Scorpion Trail (Trail)
- Hypermotard: Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 (Sport/GT)
- Hypermotard SP: Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP (Sport)
These are the tyres proposed in France but I assume that it is the same for everyone around the globe as the bikes are manufactured in Italy only - or some special version for special countries?

I do not know about the Scorpion trail, on my GSA the Metzeler Tourance 2 (trail) where ok but the Dunlop Roadsmart (sport/GT) were great. As I plan to ride the hyperstrada exclusively on roads (Paris) or curve spots in the French Alps I think that depending on my planning I will balance betwen Pirelli Diablo Rosso/Dunlop Roadsmart or dunlop Sportsmart/Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa (Tests will be necessary).
What about that?

Well I personally want something more like this....

Metzler Karoo 3

I also like the Heidenau K60 Scout

and maybe the Michelin Anakee 3 for something different

Sure that it will look great with tyres like this
A friend of mine put the heidenau on his GS, it goes well but obviously the machine does not hold the road like a panigale!! But in the dirt it is totally different.

Are they available in 180/55/17?

Unfortunately no, not all have the sizes we need a 17" diameter yes with a 150 width not a 180 width but with enough hit in the net maybe the manufactures will listen. The Continental TCK 80 didn't come out in a 180 width at first but enough Multistrada owners wanted them so Continental listened. My thinking was I would go with two sets of wheels the stockers with some super sticky on and a set of wire spoke wheels with more dirty tires on.

I offer to assist you with your tests, NarrowHead. Kindly send me a first-class return ticket Brisbane to Paris and I'll take it from there... L of S

I would pay to fly over there for the chance to ride that country with someone from there that speaks the language and knows all the good spots to eat!

Sounds like party time at Narrow Heads. ;) I think all my riding is going to be on asphalt so may look more towards a touring tire.

Anyone know what kind of mileage we should expect from these scorpion trails? And how good they are going to be on the pavement. I have nearly zero desire to take my bike off road so I'm thinking of seeing if the dealer will switch to pilot road 3s before I take the bike.

The Scorpion Trails also come on the 1200 Multistrada I should think 3000 miles and they should work very well on the pavement.

The roads in update New York (Windham) may not be the Alps, but is pretty sweet. I would love to ride in Europe.

The roads in south florida suck, since there are no mountains in sight its all straight line riding all the time. I would need to get dual compound tires to have them wear somewhat evenly.

The scenery is great but flat and not a lot of curves. Im looking forward to a trip with my parents to Tennessee on may to the tail of the dragon. But just getting out from florida to atlanta where some of the fun begins is 600+ miles

I grew up south of Montgomery, AL. Some great roads between monroeville, al and Camden,AL. The terrain has great hills in that part of bama
Keys are beautiful. Not much elevation change, though

Y'all come to Colorado and I'll show you some elevation and some twisties make the hair stand up on the back your neck!

Oh yeah! Must be amazing to ride in CO!!! Spent two summers working in Estes Park during college. Spectacular!

My parents went to colorado last summer in their harley and loved it. Im originally from Colombia and almost the entire country is like the tail of the dragon. I wish I could ride there someday.
