Another Recall? Service Bulletin?

Bought my Strada a couple months ago. Went to pick it up and the fork seal needed to be ordered. Waited another week and took it home. While riding home the Engine light came on and power on the bike dropped 50%. Happened the remainder of the day. Next day it was gone and has been since. About a week later, switching from 2nd gear to 3rd, the engine quit in the middle of the shift. Called the dealer and they said bring it in. Dealer hooked up the bike to the computer and found an error code that they then deleted. Now dealer is telling me there is a brand spanking new Recall (Service Bulletin) and more parts need to be ordered. Waiting for more detail today.

Anyone out there aware of a new recall?

Just got off the phone with the dealer. The tech I spoke with didn't know much but here's the gist- Throttle Control's are being replaced right now. He told me the fly by wire system is part of or connected to the ECU and is throwing off error codes, causing weird errors. Ducati has fixed the issue or addressed the issue and replacement parts are in stock. When I pick the bike up I'll update with further/better info.

I used to get limp mode start-ups and stalling between shifts when bike was relatively new. The software update fixed for a while, but now I'm getting the limp mode issue again. No error codes associated.

Just at the dealer this weekend

Geez just at the dealer Saturday ad got the steering seal thing done. they said there were 3 updates for the bike software, but did not say anything about the throttle issue.

Checked with my dealer's service manager and they have not heard/seen this TSB come through. I've bought 5 Ducs from them and find them very reliable.

Would be good to get a TSB # nexty time someone's dealer tells them this is a real issue.

Another conversation with the dealer. DNA has not made an official announcement and my guy in MPLS wasn't sure they would. When they hooked up my HS to the computer the error code related a throttle tube issue (my guy said "re-estat"), which is being replaced. The part was recently updated and is available but DNA only sends them out when this specific error code comes up. When I pick up my bike I will relay what the error code is specifically. Sorry - I'm not much of a techy guy but am trying to learn, so excuse my lack of knowledge!

Had a bit of lean hesitation at about 90+mph when new, but software update at 600 mile service addressed it nicely. Now have 9,400 miles without so much as a blip, miss, stall, hesitation, phart, burble, blarf, sneeze, wheeze, cough, hack, grumble or wiff since then. Love it! But I did break the clutch cable today. Go figure.

I'm getting the limp mode problem at 2000km. Dealer can't fine any problem and wants to charge me for the work. I'm furious!

@ottawa
What dealer are you using?
GP bikes (in Ajax) has been pretty good to me so far. Is this the Hyper from Ride/Kahuna?
Cheers

yes, it's from Kahuna. A friend of a friend reffered me. The price was right.

The Dealer in Ottawa is Powersports.

I had the recall, ecu update and then first service in Montreal. I've been dealing with Monette Sport. They've been great. That's where I'll be taking it next. I spoke to them on the phone, they'll have a look at it probably next week. I'm attempting to ride to Port Dover today, once the rain eases off.

I will be calling Ducati North America today. Thanks for the number.

In the US we have free roadside assistance to the nearest dealer. They should come and get it!

They did come and get it. it's the same here for roadside assistance. but the issue is that the dealer can't find the problem and charged me for the diagnostics. They are charging me for their incompetence...

The complaint is in now with DNA. It will be with the BBB as well shortly...

I know a lot of people that have had problems with this dealership including my brother, friends, and coworkers. I am taking the bike to a different dealership at my own cost because it's 200km away and roadside assistance will only bring the bike to the nearest dealership.

So, When I got home, I undid and redid all of the connectors I could reach, and no problem since... with 1200km put on in the last few days. Now the problem is that someone kicked and/or pushed over my bike on the weekend, and now I have to deal with that damage.
