Arrived

It is an amazing bike. Ready to hit SoCal roads in the hills. I bought the GPS and top bag so far. Not sure about exhaust. I pick it up Wednesday. I visited it as they prepped it and added GPS. My dealer only got one, mine! The others down on the list have to wait.

Bill does the detector actually work? Seems like you'd be past before they'd know you were there.
Can't wait to hear what the exhaust will sound like, bike sounds mean stock!

So fellow Australian folk, my stealer tells me mine will be ready for collection Friday (maybe Saturday morning)....

LOL....you would be surprised how many times the radar detector has saved my bacon. I use an Escort 8500 with Marc Parnes Visual Alert. It works really good.

The stock exhaust sounds awesome. Very happy with it, and don't think theres a need to change it. I did see/hear one set up with the full Termi hi-mount race exhaust and it was really really nice booming sound. As much as I liked it, I think it would be too much sound for all day rides. I am however curious to hear how the low-mount Termi canister sounds.

Call FROM dealer today: "I got billed for the bikes today so should be very soon..."

Guess that means they're in the states and on their way. Hopefully coming from Miami.

Well I got an email from my dealer that I could pick the bike up this weekend or I could wait until Thursday. Its a 3 hour drive to the dealer and I'm going to be at our main office Wednesday & Thursday which is very near the dealer. So should I saw screw it and drive over Saturday to pick it up. Lots of driving in just a coupe of days.

Wbill and gat, love the stock sound, had to work late yesterday and today so no ride till next week but it sounded good in the showroom. Bill what's the radar setup look like any, pics? Don't need it on my F but with this one I can see it coming in handy.

Where are you and who is your dealer, AusH? And are you talking H'Motard or H'Strada?

My dealer (on the Gold Coast) has been 100% incommunicative since I gave him my $500 deposit on a H'Strada back in January!

City Ducati in Melbourne.

Have to say I got very little from them until now but to be fair I've been giving the sales guys grief almost weekly since November without so much as a groan or detectable eye roll.

Did you demo the Multi12 standard? Only about another 80 or 90 lbs, and slightly more dough!

Yeah, there is a 2012 multi going out at the same price as the Hyper, thinking I might jump on that (debating saving up another $5k and going the base 2013 instead or getting a loan like most).

It's not actually the seat height that was the problem for me, being this tall I'm used to being cramped in the legs.

The seat to handle bar distance is where I came unstuck (if that makes sense). I know this style of bike will be a bit tight in that department but this was actually actively uncomfortable.

I understand where your coming from now.
I've got the opposite, i'm only 5'6" I would like an SP but know already thats it's going to be too tall, even with the lower seat!!
I've got a test ride in two weeks when i get home from work, or at least a test sit on an SP. The dealers don't have any Strada's in stock and there is a two week lead time for order. Gutted because by the time the dealer gets it in stock it will be time for me to go back to work for four more weeks. So it will be 2nd week in July for my bike ;-(

Going to test the SP 1st for size but there is a Strada that is already on its way to the dealer that has now got my name on it, with a lower seat thrown in for free if needed

Bike due in the dealers 7-10days

I'm due home 10 days time, perfect.

I really like the SP, but it was just too tall! Felt like my WR250R, only it didn't sag much when I got on it. Would be a bear to get on and off with bags.

AusHyper, 2012 is a steal of a price, but the 2013 has some great upgrades to the engine and body parts. Tuneboy has CC and some really good tune files for both. From what I read tho, the 2013 runs great right out of the box and has more torque than the 2012.
