Are they here yet?

Yahoo! dealer called this morning .can pick mine up this sat. can' t wait . hope the weathers nice . been raining cats and dogs the past few weeks.

Saw the Strada in person last night for the first time...it's a gorgeous bike in person, much more so than in pics IMO.
The bags appeared more durable than what I'd imagined.
The one I saw was red...and it is a glorious red. More metallic/waxed looking than I gathered from online photos that make it look a little blunt/dull. This is a bike that will look better the cleaner you keep it.
Not sure on the riding position yet; I sat on it and it's a little awkward but I've not ridden it - hopefully demo this weekend.
Great looking bike though.

What did you think of seat height? Can you pass height/inseam and how much of your foot touched the ground (off the center stand)?

I sat on it at the IMS in Seattle and the balls of my feet were on the ground. that was with tennis shoes on. Felt about the same as my 06 S2R 800 Monster. I'm 5'-6" with a 28.5" inseam. For me I was fine with the height. I don't need to be flat footed. Does make it a bit more of a challenge when backing up into a parking spot at work though. Still doable.

Thats good to here Strada. I'm mostly worried about throwing leg carefully over bags; rocking off center stand (does it auto retract with handle grab?); and, yes, backing up. I was tip-toes on 2000 R6 and I remember walking backwards was not my favorite activity. I've got an inch or two on your numbers so hopefully good. Guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow on my demo ride.

Well, just called my dealer. He received two bikes today. One red HyperMotard that will be his demo bike, and one SP that will go to the first person with the money to buy it. My White HyperStrada???? Maybe next week???? I am bummed to not have it for this nice New England weekend we have coming.

So, I stopped by my other local Ducati dealer this morning and they had a Red HyperStrada available. Dealer 1 was still having difficulty tracking down my pre-order, So I decided to take the sure thing from dealer 2 and will be picking up my Red HyperStrada tomorrow. Wheeee!

Whoot!

I can see this site going dead for about a week while all the pre-orders roll in. I took a week off to get a lot of saddle time and that byotch better show earrrrly next week!

Cheers!

I heard from my dealer that they just received their paper work on their in coming shipment which my bike is part of. He says it takes about 8 days once they get the paperwork so he is hoping it shows up by next weekend.

I'm 6'1" 175 no idea what my inseam is, not long-legged about average/proportional I'd say. Felt very stable sitting on the bike, balls of feet and then some touching ground. The seat was narrow enough to where I could see backing around all day on it just fine. Did need to be careful not to kick the bag of course but not a big deal there either. My friend who is 5'8" also sat on it and I could see he felt plenty stable as well.
Awesome they are finally here...

demo was a blast. Bike has telepathic handling. Very neutral, super flickable. It did dive pretty hard under breaking and I thought the bars were a bit buzzy at speed, although I haven't spent a lot of time in the saddle lately and don't have much comparison. Grips felt like mush old bmx jobs and could be a bit thicker. Plenty of power and very comfortable riding position. Found out how good wind screen is when I drove screenless bike immediately after. I couldn't throw a leg over without kicking outter bag. Seat height was perfect and it feels just the right size under my 5'8"/180lb frame.

I messed with the drive modes a little. I started off in Touring and the throttle was very responsive. Sport was uber-responsive. Didn't touch urban as it was a country road route. The single selector/turn signal fob works fine with the single button but I think they could have made the turn signal a 4-way stick and probably helped in navigating the menus a bit.

Just gorgeous in person. There was a white one in the showroom with a sold sticker on it and for a brief moment I thought I was going to be leaving on a new Strada. Alas, it was some one above me on the list. Dude is almost 8 hrs away in Tallahassee and can't even pick it up till next weekend...I think he should have gave it to me as I was ready to sign and drive. "Next week" is still the estimate on delivery.

Drove the Diavel next. What a beast! That should have been named Monster. Wheel lifted during 2nd gear roll-on from 40mph. Think I walked on the 848 next to me a few times. Really cool, comfortable bike but its a bit of a stretch to the bars. Oh, that massive rear tire likes to keep whatever track it's on when you twist the stupid-grip. Think I saw the traction control light a couple times during full twist in 2nd. Really liked the secondary digital display with nice graphics and gear indicator. Kinda wish Strada had gear indicator but that's only because I don't know the bike well enough yet to feel what gear it's in. That will change very soon.

Red and super cool! Raining here in St. Louis so no test drive today. But expect a nice ride next week after work and the missing urban mode report. Salesman Chris rode it all over at the demo day in California. Said it rides like a dream, just let the trax and abs controls do their thing. Ride it and enjoy but it does feel like your sitting over the front tire. They have a lower seat coming with the jel topping at around $250 that lowers it about 30mm. But with 2k more for the Multistrada, hummmmm another test ride is in order. So with bags, without and my current F650
