diagnostic plug for GuzziDiag

A bit late, I know but here it is.

The parts I used are:

Amazon.com: Goliton® OBD OBD2 16 Pin Connector Diagnostic Adapter for FIAT 3 Pin: Automotive
Amazon.com: iKKEGOL KKL VAG-COM 409.1 USB ODB2 ODB II Cable Car Auto Diagnostic Tool Audi VW AUDI Volks: Automotive
Tyco/AMP Superseal 1.5 Series Motorsport Connectors - Corsa Technic 20-22AWG 1.2-1.6 mm seal

When you hold the OBD-II socket(female pins) in your hand and using this chart for reference:
OBDII_Female_Connector.jpg

OBD-II-------Fiat 3 pin + clips
5-------------1 + black clip
7--------------------3
15-------------------2
16----------------red clip

The Fiat plug is numbered 1-3 on the shell of the connector.
You don't have to wire the clips in, but I included them for the complete pinout.

I hope this helps.

Yes indeed :) Thanks for sharing.

Do the red and black clips go to the battery (12vdc)?

Yes, they connect to the battery. IIRC, so that the VAG KKL harness can be tested without powering the bike up.

Does anyone have this tool? I was reading on the aprilia forum the the guZzi diag they have a read and write for the 7sm ecu

I do. I tried to use the reader, but had no luck. Here is what I got back from Bernd about adding support for our bikes in June of last year.

I looked in your log file:
It looks that the seed/key algorithm is totally different.
So my keys does not fit the seed.

If you have access to a complete binary file, I can look for the algorithm.

So if anybody knows how to pull the bin file from the ECU, that would be awesome.

Hi,
I have a hyperstrada 2015.
Everywhere I see, I have to connect 3 wires to the fiat to obd adapter .
Problem is that my 3 pin connector (number 59 in user manual) only has 2 wires connected. 1=GND , 3= Serial line (which goes to Marelli ECU PIN 14).
So, there is no wire connected to pin 15 of the obd connector.
Can somebody help me out with this problem?

You don't need pin 2. You only need pins 1 and 3 on the 3 pin connector.

I'm in process of getting logs for the IAW Reader program. Not sure how long it will take, but it is moving forward.

Well, I'm jumping in because I've been following this issue on several forums. This ECU seems to be particularly secretive.
However, the gear indicator looks pretty awesome, I've always though it ridiculous that its not on the high tech dash! Now if anybody knows of a fuel guage....;)
