Limp mode?

I just wanted to share my situation. Leave house in sport mode. I go slow in the neighboorhood since it is 5:30 in the morning and I want to be quiet, mayb3 3000 rpm max. I turn onto arterial street and try to accelerate and shift into second. It just lugs. I try more throttle and it stays at a low rpm, no matter where I move the throttle past a few thousand. I pullover, switch to touring thinking maybe something in the ECU for that mode going wrong, same symptoms. I pull over and turn off the bike. I wait a minute thinking turning off and then back on might reset computer. I turn key and all lights are bright and the dash said ERRORS. I turn off and wait some more. I turn on the bike again and it seems to work. I drive away and go through some gears and all seems normal. The dealership was closed on Monday so I took it in yesterday. I put 180 miles driving to work and back on it since the fault. They said the errors shown were ECU fault and APS. The APS was acceleration sensor. They began troubleshooting and not sure if they could replicate problem. I just wanted to share story in case someone has had similar problem and I will post resolution if any.
Ride safe!

Yesterday, after an update i had the same problem.
APS was not working.
Dealer will ask Ducati......

I just put 5500 km on it. No throttle problems noticed.
For me no ecu updates. I'm getting heated trips soon. Hopefully it will not cause any problems.

Ecu update

ECU Updated on late May. I pick up bike tomorrow. I am moving so I need it back to put on trailer. They said they would do what they could by then. I am headed to montgomery, AL and the closest dealer I could find is a few hours drive. I hope they find resolution! Moving and having to arrive and worry about this will not be welcome!

My HS stopped and wouldn't start. Apparently it's a software issue - bike recovered to dealer and now sorted with a software update.

Picking it up tomorrow. I'll let you know if there is a further problem.

Latest software seems ok

Dealer loaded latest version of software and no more error reports. He described other issues I had related to last version. One thing I noticed was starting was sluggish. It was like the battery was low, did not start like it used to before last update. Going to pick up and load it in trailer for move. They put miles on it today and still no errors.

Acceleration Position Sensor [APS]

After an update the APS was not 'seen' by the bike.
So the dealer has to make them 'meet ' again.

Me Too!

I just had the same problem today with my wife's hyperstrada!! Could not get it past 75 no matter what gear it was in! The engine could rev freely with the clutch in but as soon as it was engaged, it felt governed at 70-75mph! We have about 2,500mi on the bike!

This is not the same problem, you can drive the bike at an limit speed.
After an update my bikes trottle does notting anymore, you can turn it round but notting is happening.
Friday i will go to the dealer for the 4rd update.
Also he will check the front brake pads, the make some weird sound.
And the brakefluid of the rear brake is brown in just one day.....

My bike had the Dashboard computer changed and now is doing the same thing. can't go beyond 4000 rpm and nothing over 90 Kms per hour.
is the software update the real fix? anyone who knows.. Thanks

not fixed yet

I am still having issues. It happens when I fire up the bike in the morning. It has the symptoms, will not rev when throttle engaged. Things seem fine at neautral start and when I get into gear and begin to go, no rev past a certain point. I shut the bike down at end of street and then fire it up again. Everything seems to be fine and I can ride to work. This happens regualry, the second start works. I am 80 miles from dealer so have to set up appointment to get latest update. Even if it is not updated I would like t 'ctl alt del' my computer and refresh software to see what happens. I am in sport mode like initial problem.

This happened once to me. "ERROR" flashed on display during cold start. Hadn't ridden it in a week, which is unusual for me. Didn't notice anything coasting out of neighborhood but as soon as I cracked it on open road the throttle was dampened heavily and wouldn't rev past 4K rpm or so. Pulled over, turned it off, then back on and it was fine.

Just ran into a similar problem this morning. Had a little bit of a hard start, drove out of my driveway, and bike would not accelerate over 4000rpm. Got to the first set of traffic lights, turned the bike off for a quick second, then turned it back on. Bike ran fine from there. I have had no updates, bike is all original, at first service no updates were done as the store i bought it from was not able to do updates or clear my oil light because they either did not have the equipment or did not know how to do it.

So I went to the dealer for the 4rh update.......dont do it!
The bike is running bad.
3000 t/m 3 gear 50 km/u with a constant gas-hand the traction control [6/urban] is very often blinking and the bike is ' lurking' Not a pleasant ride.
Next week the dealer is contacting Ducati for an solution.
In the same time i have taking the demo bike from the dealer, with no updata's at all, and this one is riding far better then my bike with all the update's.
