petrol (gas) tank

anyone know how to remove it at the rear ?
got the panels off, front mounts off and the battery tray but the rear won't lift out *

there's an allen key (hex key) through the back section but it won't budge, do I need to remove it to get the tank off ?
any help would be appreciated cos it's driving me mad

Remove fuel pump shroud
Disconnect main fuel line from tank
Large bolt holds it from rear *watch giant washer between tank that likes to fall into frame
Helps to remove ECU, Battery and Bars.

Yep^

Also remove the front mounting supports so the tank can come straight out the top. I personally never had to remove the bars.

Yup,

... and when all the stuff is removed you will tug up on the rear and the tank won't come out. You have to wheedle it past the seat lock mechanism - easy if you know that's the problem - and now you do.

I'll second this. After spending hours trying to get the tank to lift from the back like it's supposed to do, I ended up removing the front mounts and got the tank out in 5 minutes. Then I spent a couple of hours kicking myself for not thinking of doing that before.

didn't take it out in the end, just lifted the front high enough to get the rear plug out
