recall on steering head upper bearing seal

Same for me..
Got my mail yesterday..

Will be 1-2 month though before one can take it to the dealer.
To cold and to mutch of gravel/sand on the roads now when winter is ending.

Just spoke with my dealer and mine is also slated to have the seal and lambda sensor work done. It's really not an issue given that it's stored there until April anyway.

Got the same notice too. The Hyper is stored for now, just need to figure out when my next trip over the mountain to Seattle is.

Next week my bike is in for the recall.
Have to kill an hour at the dealers, see what I can borrow :D

No, they didn't.
I had the Monster Evo before the Hyper and there was a rear wheel issue on it.
The dealers had to change the rear wheel before a given date.
This recall hasn't got a given date so......

By the way, if it is a "must" to have the rubber seal mounted, what happened with the bearing during the past year. No replacement on the bearing, no extra or check on lubrication???
This is an issue now I think.

My dealer will pick up my hyper next week to do service and mount the missing steering bearing seal.
I have about 8500km on the clock and checked visually the steering bearings.
The grease at the top one looks sandy and the grease on the bottom one looks rusty. But I'm not sure, how new grease looks like and if the bearing or the steering head is really rusty or not. I attached some pictures...
The dealer will check the bearings and replaces them if required on warranty.

Hi guys!

Ducati Japan announced the service campaign(not recall) to install a stem bearing stem seal on stearing head on 6th March. I will get my HS improve on the week of 10th.

There was another recall to change wiring position of ramda sensor cable on horizontal side for Hypermotard 2013/14. I will ask my dealer HS needs the improvement.

I bought my hs 1 month ago and still waiting for that mail.

I just made my first 1000km/600miles oil service and they didn't tell me anything about that. I told them about the campaign and they asked me about the mail and I said I didn't received it.

Mine does not have it. Bought in upstate ny. I wonder if it is an emergency to get this done? Or is it a "when I get around to it" thing. Also, I have not received a letter.

I just had the work done. Steering seal and lambda cable.
Took about 45 minutes for the lot.
Mechanic also lubricated the top bearing, just a little treat for the bearing.... ;-)

Is this little re-lubrication part of the regular procedure, or do you just have a good mechanic?

I don't know what the recall paper says, just saw it very briefly.
Maybe it is mentioned but I know my mechanic is a good one.
He doesn't care what others say, the only thing matters to him is a good and thrustfull bike.

Btw, all the people at my dealer think that way....... Even the sales guy...
My dealer is partly owned by the sales guy and partly owner by a mechanic.
Both are crazy......, in a good way.

The rubber seal is missing on my Hyperstrada too. Ducati dealer in my city hasn't informed us about recall yet. I will speak to them next week about this.

What is the ramda sensor cable? I appreciate if you can take a photo of that part and let me see!

The Lamda sensor is fiited to the exhaust pipe to read the emmisions, you will see the sensor on the pipe with the loom conected to it. Follow the exhaust down from the cyl head, you'll see it!

When I changed my tires last week, I told my dealer about this sealing and he mentioned about the relocation of cables for the lambda sensor in one sentence. They just did it together right away...

I had mine in for checking of the battery and they did the recall fixes at the same time, though I am still to get my letter from Ducati.
