I considered that one too, but just couldn't do it. It is ugly. Shelling out the $243.00 for the Ducati screen was tough, but no regrets now.

My carbon screen supposedly arrives tomorrow. The factory wind screen will remain ready for duty though along with the soft bags, all of which is inspiring me to remove the bar risers too. The concept of a 'convertible' motard appeals to me.

Cool. you won't be disappointed with the new screen. I like the riding/seat position with the risers and typically don't use the bags. I do have a Mototech tail bag I use from time to time but use the side bags If I need more storage.

After reading your posts, I feel good about the screen. Thanks! :)

I look forward to hearing what you think about the carbon screen. Did you buy it via Amazon? They dont have it listed anymore and there was one in stock the other day (commonwealth cycles has an Amazon store so I was gonna see if I could get it with some of my Amazon rewards points).

Especially how it feels when rushing from low speed to high speed - don't like having to fight the wind to hang on for dear life.

Okey dokey. I considered cutting the stock screen down some and maybe tinting it mildly on the inside but that's a lot of work and I'd rather ride. :p

Got it on and like the appearance MUCH better but I haven't ridden it yet. I see more wind blast coming for sure but that doesn't bother me much on my shorter, local rides. It could be an issue for a traveler but it will be quick and easy to swap back to the factory screen anytime. Yep, it came from Commonwealth/Amazon and was listed as the last one in stock. The kit includes new hardware (screws and spacers) which I thought odd until I realized the old screws wouldn't seat properly with the new carbon part. It also included the plastic mount, into which, both old and new screen fit. Of course, that wasn't needed. I'm happy even if it was a little too pricey!

The OEM tourning screen came with a new bracket, which wasn't necessary. I wonder how much that piece of plastic costs and why they always include it for a bike that shouldn't need it?

Yeah, I wondered the same. Maybe the kit will work on some other model that needs the extra plastic part. If that's the case, they could have created a different kit rather than make everyone pay for the extra part.

I just bought the Hypermotard fly screen, cost just over $30 and installed it myself in 20 min. Looks great and I was very surprised it wasn't windy as I had expected. Allot more wind on the chest, my helmet stopped buffeting almost entirely.

Can you post a link to that so we can see which one you're talking about?

The kit includes the bracket because it's for the motard that doesn't have the strada's mount from the factory. The motard just has the black plastic over the headlight and no uprights. I agree that if they'd sell the screen alone it could help bring the cost down for strada owners.

That black piece of plastic over the headlight without the uprights is all I bought. So basically is a motarded strada :p ill grab a picture of it tonight or tomorrow

oil change

I did my first oil and filter change last weekend, at 5000 miles (4000 since the first service at the dealer). A few comments:

The pdf service manual seems to point to the wrong plug on the bottom of the cases; the parts list has it right. It's not the one under the strainer!

The K&N filter is a bit longer than stock even without the hex, so the skidplate is a bit tougher to fit. I'm thinking of cutting a hole for the hex. I also fitted a new O-ring drain plug with safety wire holes from TPO parts in TX.

I went with Motul 300, 10/40 per my race mechanic friend. He said that my dealer uses the same. The shifting was vastly improved, finding neutral became much easier. Highly recommended.

Took mine in for its 1st annual service amd to have the recall completed for the steering head bearing cover.
Got offered there baby pannigale to test ride, but feeling rather ropey after a heavy session with the lads last night, I declined.
Cant believe its 12 months old already.

Looked at it and gave it a friendly little tap on the gas tank.
I told it that Saterday is playtime again....... The hyper responded with a single flash of the red light.....

Am I going MAD.....

Brought my hyperstrada to the dealer to get the andreanis installed - I hope, they're worth it.
Had a 4-day-Trip to northern Italy last weekend with some friends. It's really the area, the hyperstrada has been made for - the smaller the roads, the more fun you have. On faster and bumpier mountain roads the fork seems to be above its limits, I hope the andreanis will fix this before my week-long trip to the French alps.

Got some new tires for the two trips, a pair of Angel GTs. They do really good so far - plenty of grip and better handling. When I wanted to, I had No problem to keep up with my friends on their monster 1200 and 1198 equipped with sport tires (rosso 2 and S20) on twisty roads.
