Swapped the wheels from my 1100S. TC gets a bit more of a workout now. :D

Takes off a whole lot better from a stop, and just better overall really.

Whoa, those wheels are compatible with the ones on an 821? What exact model(s) and year(s) would that cover?

Not sure why a same-sized set of wheels would make a difference in performance, though.

Wheels cross right over. Just have to swap rotors. Same axle size, and same wheel spacers. It would cover any Hyper 1100.

The difference is the 1100S wheels are forged vs the 821 cast. Reduced wheel weight by about 6-7 lbs total.

Thanks Dragoon, I was thinking more about having a set with more off-roadish rubber. Do you think the HYM 796 wheels would also work?

PS I spotted a fully farkled out previous model CBR1000 at the Lookout on Saturday - had the BSTs, full Ohlins F&R, and the widest chicken strips in the parking lot.

I would imagine that the wheels from a 796 would fit, but I won't say for sure until someone tries it.

I just happen to own an 1100 and 821.

That's pretty good weight savings but it would have to be a really friggin' awesome set to make me give up the stockers. The rear wheel is about my favorite thing to stare at on the bike.

WHat's the weight of that rear hugger vs. rizoma ones?? I don't see your plate anywhere....??

Changed left pannier lock/latch since it would not lock into place.

Did you try greasing internals before that? It can feel like the lock/latch mechanism is the culprit but once I broke open the case and lubed the internal workings, it's been like butter ever since.

I mounted my Givi Case today . Not sure if I like it or not . Is it too BIG ? I'm really not crazy about the bags . Look pretty cheesy to me . I'd use them for a trip but not everyday riding . So far I've added EvoTech radiator and head guards , AltRider water pump guard and rear rack , Speedymoto frame and axle sliders , Shorty mirror ,Competition Werks slip-on ,Bead Rider seat beads , Fender eliminator with smaller rear T/S and the Givi case . I also removed the charcoal canister , the big ugly mirrors , and the saftey decals and reflectors . I want some dual sport type tires but not sure what to get , I may go with the TKC 80's like Jerdog has .

Yup! I did that three times with different types of lube. Took it apart completly. The dealer sent me a set for both panniers on warranty so I can't complain! :D
The lock won't click into place/lock position. The internals seem to move ok and nothing is bent out of shape so I can't quite understand why the lube didn't work. Oh well...

Well I guess no body liked my Givi Case either ! Oh well it's on there now , but can come off with the push of a button . I got a set of TKC 80's to put on now . Rode about 100 miles of gravel last weekend . The Scorpion like pretty sad with 2000 miles on them .

Yesterday I took off the handle bar raisers on my HS and I find it much better. Tonight, I'll install this...
