Just wondering for comparison sakes, what you're paying for insurance.
Which insurance company is the cheapest.

I'm in my mid 40's and paying a Dual bike policy with Hastings Direct £270 for my hyper fully comp, this also covers my VFR 400 fully comp. (which I don't think is too bad).

I'm 41 and I pay 767$ (or 33.70 a month) For one bike fully covered for two years. With the Capitale Bank. It seems you had a better deal.

Money conversion...
767$ CAN = 719.51$ US
767$ CAN = 441.24£ GBP
767$ CAN = 74865.24Â¥ JPY.

So your getting two years insurance for $767 ?? thats not bad.
My cover is only for 12 months, I have two years no claims bonus, there is an excess on the policy of £500.00 and only other benefit is legal cover.
I remember i had to shop around some quotes where just ridiculous. £900-£700
I think the sp & Motard were even more expensive.
be interesting to see what the other guys are paying, it could benefit someone to find a cheaper Broker??

GEICO; $33 US/mo; 36 yrs old; $500 deductible.

I was quoted nearly 4 times that amount from Progressive. Part of the problem was the actual Strada wasn't in their system yet so they just went with Motard. The GEICO guy knew what he was doing and didn't just select closest alternative.

Yeah, I believe the normal motard is still regarded as a hooligan machine, where as the Strada (touring) is regarded as just that, a touring bike. So the insurance comes right down. I think I would definitely consider this when buying a bike, as it could equate to a lot over a couple of years. What I paid extra for all the touring gear over the price of a standard motard I will have got back in two years in insurance premiums alone.
Definitely something for a newbie to consider when buying a bike. Buying a motard might be false economy?? Obviously the SP is a different kettle of fish altogether if you want the sports version.
What's other peoples thoughts??

1400$ a year for wifes bike. The 675r is cheaper go figure. But note I am in Canada. Would kill to have the rates you guys get in the US.

Yep, in Canada, insurance is legalized theft. I'm also paying - at 40 with a perfect record and full class M licence - more than 1400 bucks a year.

Mine is $54/month for two bikes with $500,000/250,000 and $1000 deduct on collision. I'm in my 50's with prefect record. Yes the limit is high and could save a few dollars if I lower it. But for a few extra bucks a months I don't have to worry about my life savings being confiscated. Oh the other bike is a custom 73 Honda CB350 with no collision
