Ducati heated hand grips

A Ducati store guy told me yesterday that the heated grips will be delivered to the factory in Bologna in the first week of October :( . Then shipment to the dealers will start.

I bought HS and paid for heated grip in July.
Dearler said it will be delivered before the winter.
It is Italian job.

Yes, I bought mine in May and paid for the grips; winter in Australia ended 8 days ago.
Obviously the Italian summer holidays are over (I hope they had a good time) as my dealer contacted me this week to tell me that the new supplier of grips will be shipping them toward the end of the month, so I might get them in October.
I suppose the consolation for the delayed delivery is that I will be so old that my peripheral blood supply will have deteriorated to the point that heated grips will serve an essential survival function on those 40 degree Celsius days in the Australian summer (104 degrees Fahrenheit for those of you that still use that measure) . Thanks Ducati, I am eternally grateful.

You haven been waiting long

I ordered my heated grips when I ordered the bike !!!
November last year !!!!
I have now rode the French Alps and the Pyrenees with over 5000 on the clock !!!
Will the 2014 model be here before Grips ???

You have indeed waited a long time. My dealer left a message last week to say that the new supplier of grips is currently filling back orders, but they did not offer a delivery date.

I have also traveled 5,000km, having just returned on Tuesday from a 2,400km, four day ride across southern parts of Australia including the beautiful Adelaide Hills and the superb Great Ocean Road. My BMW riding mate had lots of fun reminding through our SENA intercoms what setting his grips were on.

Got this info from dealer, thru ducati parts order application
heated grips announced to be shipped to dealer around Oct 15th, ( France)

I know what you are saying Jerdog, riding on hwy 365 in New York this morning it was 50 and foggy...felt like 30 to me, I had to get the big winter gloves out.

I was booked in last Wed. To have the heated grips installed. Got there 1st thing only to find that they couldn't find the box. Be Nov now.

This is really bad. I order mine when I bought it in april and still no grips here, and now winter is here.
How can Ducati sell something they don't even have?
I really hope that this is not a trend in unreliable parts from Ducati.
I hope you all demand reimbursement for this like I do. (Not from the dealer, from Ducati as its they who cant deliver the parts they told us they had)

42 degree F ride in to work this morning sure would be nice to have some heated grips Ducati!!!!

My bike will be away for the winter by the time my dealer gets mine in! I guess they'll have to hold them for the winter and install for me next spring.

That's sick ..
Winter is here and they still have not delivered heated grips.
The motorbike is expensive, and for that money I expect better service.

Heated grips ordered and paid for when I ordered my Hyper Strada, and heated grips was one of the requirements I had when I was going to buy a new motorbike. (if you have had one with heated grips, you dont want to be without)

To say that they have hated grips and are selling something they already knew before that they had not.
This is getting really annoying and bad by Ducati. : (

My Hyper Strada is wonderful, but the way Ducati has done this is beneath contempt ..

The Hyperstrada is indeed wonderful, but the grip situation deplorable. I have expressed my views about false and misleading representations to the CEO of the Australian distributor. Of course the response I received was apologetic and states "Ducati has finally received confirmation from their suppliers that a gradual fulfilment of the worldwide backorders has commenced." (dated 30 September) I thought the Forum might have been buzzing with excitement by now as deliveries start to manifest; seems the "fulfilment of the worldwide backorders" will indeed be gradual.

I do hope you folks in the Northern Hemisphere get them soon. Our winter has been and gone and we are rapidly heading toward summer.

The thing is.
Soon it dont matter if they arrive or not, as snow and ice will be here.
So the delay will be a whole year delay from me bying and installing them.
And who knows.. Will they be here for next winter or will they have a other lame exuse. :-(

Dealer says arrival by 10/15, oh the excitement of it all, realistically probably some time in 2014 but ya gotta have dreams, right?

Mine have arrived - 5 months after I ordered them. Just need to make the 1 hour trip to the Stealership to have them fitted and also get the latest ECU update etc.
