Excellent post, looks really easy to do, no more than an hours labour if that.
How much was the GPS unit??

It was included in my bike purchase, the line for it said $700, but you know how they fudge the numbers so that the final price comes out right.

Thanks, think i'll be doing the same, only got a deposit on mine at the moment, subject to test ride, and now what freebies i can squeeze them for.:D

Super. I will go in and solder smaller wires for my GPS to plug in. Thanks a bunch.

P.S. Do you have a picture of the GPS mount? I am using a ramball mount on the handlebar clamp, it is kinda fiddly and is never in the middle or angled right.

WAIT!!!...Today after realizing I actually had no power at the GPS, I found a second connector located up in the same place, but not inside the bundle cover. It turns out the "other" connector is the correct one for GPS. The first connector I used is for the heated grips (not sure if this is power for the grips or just switching for the grips). It has a sticker down on the wire labeled "grip heater". Didn't see the label the first time around. Duhhh.

I will shortly update my first post with new photos., then edit this post to note the change. Stupid Italian directions weren't very clear.

DIRECTIONS AND PHOTOS UPDATED. Sorry for the confusion.

Here ya go. I don't know if you can buy just the mounting hardware separately. I am just using a ramball that replaced one of the handlebar mount bolts on my Multi and moving the GPS back and forth. I'm OK with that setup. It was cheap and easy.

Thanks for that, and no problem on the two different plugs. Good to know where the heated grips plug in is also. Glad it is not under the tank behind the airbox like on the Multi12. That was PITA to get to.

Interesting on the new parts for GPS mount, nice and clean.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering where the heated grip connections were. That will save me time digging around looking for the wires.

Bill or anyone do you know if the two wires switched pigtail coming out of the connector is power and ground or just power?

I ran out of time last night and didn’t pull the volt meter out to check.

I’m running GPS and a USB power cord to this point or do you think there would be a better place for the USB power cord?

My GPS Install

Finally got around to getting some pictures up loaded so you can see what I have done.

GPS Is a Garmin Montana, the Mount came from Gadget Guy and he was a big help figureing out the details for this install on this bike which was a first.

Anybody have experience running electronics off bike magneto's? I would imagine it doesn't put out nearly as much juice as a car's alternator, and I would worry it would be hard on the power needs of the bike, maybe eventually taxing the battery.

The Strada has got a more powerful gen, than the motard and SP, thats why it comes with two power outlets. :D

GPS Looks great, pity its a $1600 option here, going to get a mount and stick my iPhone on as a GPS instead i think.

I don't suppose anybody knows where I can get the 350LM base mount from separately. I have the 350LM installed on my 2013 Multi but can't seem to find the base connector to fit to my 2013 SP. i.e. the same part again to fit to another bike.

Thank you very much. I spend pretty much all my time on a computer and would consider myself savvy. It was something I just couldn't readily find.:D

Great site!

Has anybody used or seen this Snooper working? The police can be quite sneaky in London.
