Just passed 9200 miles on the factory tires. Will most likely to with Dunlop Roadsmart II. Had those on a 2001 Triumph Sprint ST and they worked very well. Since the Hyper is a lot lighter, I'm expecting a much longer tread life.

Question, for those of you who purchase tires online.

How confident are you with receiving a max two (2) year old from online purchase?
The sellers are guaranteeing max 2 years old or return free of charge. Not sure. Local pricing is outrageous.

I always buy from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and get new tires only a few months old.

uspspro: Pirelli MT60R looks great on th HS! Very curious to hear feedback on how they perform near the limits on the road. I have a concern that the blocky pattern squirms/slips in stuttersteps under power when we'll heeled over - I had that specific problem with Bridgestone's ADV-type tires on the DL1000 V-Strom. Mind you those had larger, fewer blocks, but that was a nasty way to lose grip on asphalt. The switch to Michelin PR3 was a huge improvement.

uspspro, so, how are the Pirelli MT60R's performing on the road, especially when you push the envelope?

Hi there, I am bought some Q3's but have not had them installed, yet. Do you think they will help with the choppy feeling in the front end?

I went to Q3s because "GRIP" is important to me, more than longevity.

I think Q3's are fine, but I think Zippy is right and most of the "choppiness" is the forks with weak springs and too much preload plus poor flow for damping. I am leaning towards the Racetech rebuild that seems to work for others. That or the Mupo. I don't have a problem with the shock, but I don’t like the twitchy, bouncy forks.

Thanks! I am going to have to do the fork upgrade ASAP! It is driving me nuts and my back is hating them.....

I will probably try the Q3's next. I had switched to the Q2's on my R6. I noticed that the rotation of the tire was wrong: the tread was channeling inwards rather than outwards. After a search, I found that was the correct way and was designed for braking stability. I figured "okay, im sure Dunlop knows about tires more than me" and mounted them as Dunlop had intended. I was impressed! I could hear the difference, it sounded as if the tires were scrubbing the pavement when I pulled the front brake and the front tire was loaded. No other tire has given me that impression.

Getting ready to take off my wheels. Received this delivery today and looks like a nice tool.

Nice to read you like the tire!

I like them!

I can still lean way over on the road. They do make some buzz... They have much better grip than the scorpians off-road.

I still feel in my bones that the Strada is a street fighter at heart, but I'm warming up to making her a dirt queen one day...like when I'm really, really bored and have another bike or three in the stable.

She points and shoots so well that I bet it does well in the mild stuff. Please tell me the suspension is better in the dirt than on the street.
