A question about the startor motor orientation

Hello.
I love you Hypermotard lovers.
I have a question about a broken Hypermotard 821.
The starter motor is working, but the one-way clutch is not working correctly and won't start.
I disconnected the one-way clutch to check its orientation, which works according to the workshop instructions.
However, when the starter motor is engaged, the one-way moves in the free direction.
My question is whether the rotation of the starter motor is clockwise or counterclockwise.
If the starter motor turns in the opposite direction, what action should be taken on the starter motor?

That comment on power take-off must be looking at the pinion on the starter motor, surely? I suppose there's no chance that the cables/terminals have been swapped over? Did the starter ever work on this bike before, or is the unit a replacement from somewhere else? I don't know what type of motor it is but wonder if the polarity and/or field windings have been reversed.

There is this from the workshop manual -

But "Counter clockwise from the power take-off side" is confusing -electrical power or motor power I don't know.
Can you test it with a battery?

I read here a similar problem -
but for the monster
.

Good luck

The start motor had a problem. I couldn't figure out why, but the starter motor spun backward. After replacing it with a new one, my motorcycle started without any problems. Knowing exactly which way the start motor was rotating was helpful. Thank you for your answer. Friend.

I don't understand this either. There is no reason for the polarity of the electricity to change, so I didn't suspect that the start motor had failed. I knew there was a problem with the one-way clutch. But something happened that didn't make sense to me, and the new motor showed me exactly what it was. Thanks for the help man buddy.
