Do I need to have the cover on filled with oil and engine running for the clutch to operate correctly? Right now I dry fit the cover and try operating the clutch but it wont disengage.

No. You don't have the actuator connected properly. I broke mine so can't help. It was far from intuitive and the factory manual was no help.

Just keep test fitting before you seal it.

Its connected correctly. I cant pull the cover off without twisting the rod to open it up

Pulled everything apart and reassembled. Putting marking blue on to show contact Patern engagement

Hi guys. I have a September 2014 hyperstrada and like many of you I def have a crap clutch. I'm uk based but can anyone point me in the direction of either the upgraded replacement clutch pack or whatever bits are needed to improve the clutch. I've read the thread and clicked on a few ebay links but I'm pretty confused on what I have to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have two options:
1) buy the kit mentioned in this thread and replace the appropriate number of plates. I'm not sure of the availability of the kit currently.
2) replace the entire clutch pack. Part number is listed in the thread.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered the anti judder upgrade and mentioned in the thread. Now just to wait on it arriving to the uk.

Has anyone fitted just the anti judder kit? When fitted should the anti judder kit be at (A) closest to the outside of the bike or (B) closest to the inside of the bike. Hope this makes sense. I've confused myself after seeing conflicting images. I currently have it fitted at (A)

Got back to 1st couple pages with the microsoft paint diagrams. There's a discussion about installing the way the manual says or user experience. I did the way the manual says. Just remember to remove the amount of clutch/ friction sets that you add for the judder kit.

And don't torque those clutch pack retainer bolts too tight...

I have the anti judder kit coming . After reading thread a few times ..
I see I do not have to remove total clutch hub , just use the threaded bolts to compress spring tension and remove and replace the clutch plates with the anti judder kit ? Correct ? And does anyone have the 2 threaded rods they want to sell ?

I sent out my last set on monday or i would have also been doing the self addressed envelope. I sent it to Bangkok, I never sent anything there. Shipping was $16!!! For 2 tiny threaded rods and nuts.

Keep an eye on the arrows and markers when you pull it apart. Every piece of the inner hub is able to go back together in many ways but only 1 way is correct. The arrows line up the inner hub and slip mechanism to allow oil flow. Make sure you keep them in line.

Hello guys. I'm ivano from Italy. I've never written before but I have read all of your post regarding clutch issues.
The change of the clutch pack was the best 300 euros I've spent on my 2014 hyperstrada.
Now it's silky smooth and really like a normal bike.
Thanks a lot for your suggestions, you really helped me in understanding what to do.

It truly worked like a charme. Unbelievable how the previous owner drove like that for 7000km. In the first thousands miles I immediately felt something was wrong with the clutch.

Signed up for an account just to comment on this long-running thread. I have a 2013 Hyperstrada and just rode the bike back from the shop after having the clutch replaced. I had sent the dealer service department this thread -- they were skeptical but agreed to give it a try. Sure enough, the stock clutch was missing the large washers, and replacing the clutch with the current version made a huge difference. I'm very happy with the result and strongly recommend this fix. Cost was ~$800 parts + labor to have the work done by an authorized dealer service department.
