"Error" and all dash lights flashing, Fan Turns on, No Start...

Push bike from my house, 10kms away from dealer, thank God 80% of the way it's downhill. When I first arrived mechs took all the info from it and after a few minutes my friend came out and told me that my bike was the 2nd at the workshop that day for the same reason! WOW wouldn't imagen it would be so common. And yes, another Hyperstrada...will let you know what they say to me this week.

Great! Got the phone call from the dealer and all 3 recall campaigns will be covered by dealer. Only downside is the fact that I’ll hace to wait up to 20 days for the parts, but anyway free is free right [emoji846] great response by dealer here in Guatemala. Totally recommend the brand. Will let you know what happens once parts get here.

Wow! Some of us uneducated people might have thought Guatemala was unlikely to take Ducatis and their maintenance seriously. Thanks for putting us (well, me anyway) right! ;)

Ducatista78 please tell us more about these three recall campaigns! Do they apply to all HS or only your VIN was included in the list of these campaigns?

As long as you bike is a Hyperstrada 2013 and was included along the first 5000 leaving the Bologna factory it should! [emoji846]

I've been to two US Duc dealerships and 1 in Italy. All of them ran my VIN for TSB's and performed them, free of charge. I was getting other work done so not sure if it would incur a base inspection fee.

Depending on the year and model.

Update: SOLVED! Ducati Guatemala performed all 3 campaigns + new dashboard and voilà I’m on the road again! For all Hyperstradas 2013 out there without the issue (YET) go to the Ducati website and enter your VIN a quick search could make a big difference! [emoji1365] Oh, they didn’t charge me anything but a 49.99 for the last diagnostic [emoji846]

I have new update. When I finally got my bike back from the dealer in early August it ran great. However, there was an error because I have a full Akrapovic exhaust and there is no exhaust flappy thingamajig. So when I got it home I plugged my UpMap into the ECM and WHAMO it said the VIN was not correct. I immediately called dealer and they said I may have to ride it a bit for it to program. Hmmmmmm OK. The next day I put close to 200 miles on it and still no VIN present. I then took it back on two different occasions for a week both times so that they could "remote in with Ducati in Italy." Both times they still couldn't figure it out. The bike still ran fine for two months and then it went into limp mode again.
A little background on what I do....I am in charge of all the Ground Equipment at the regional airports in the NE for a regional airline owned by American Airlines. So not to sound to cocky but troubleshooting and electronic components is where I shine and got me where I am now.
Once the bike went into limp mode I tried a new coil on the lower cylinder from an Aprillia which was the cylinder that wasn't firing. Well that fixed it until the top cylinder started misfiring. Hmmmm...At the time I only had one coil but whatever combination of coil or sparkplug I used the problem kept jumping from one cylinder to the other.
Took my bike back to the dealer so they could finally write the VIN to the bike on October 8 2020. I was told I needed to buy a servo buddy and then they could get with Ducati again to solve the problem.
Two months later and Ducati of NA has decided not to warranty the second ECM because they claim my Termignoni UpMap blew the ECM. Meanwhile NOONE has bothered to call me and talk to me about what happened. And they claim now that that is why the first ECM blew and they are making it sound like they did me a favor by not charging me the first time. The mapping was never changed on the new ECM because my UpMap wouldn't even communicate with the ECM.
I bought my bike in October of 2019 and for the over a year I have owned it the bike has been in the shop for 5 months. I am a year round rider and use it for commuting.

THANKS DUCATI WHILE ALL MY RIDING BUDDIES WERE GIVING ME **** FOR HOW LONG MY BIKE WAS DOWN I HAD FAITH THAT YOU WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. I DEFENDED YOU AND LOVED YOU BUT NOW LIKE SO MANY OTHER TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS THIS ONE ENDS IN A DIVORCE.

My bike was ok also for so many miles and then again... the tree of death... has to ride it in limp mode for over 200miles until I reach home. Hope they do me the favor and cover the warranty again [emoji1694]by the way tried the 1260 Enduro at the track last week OMG [emoji33] awesome

Apaulas,
I have almost the exact same setup, symptoms and suggested fixes as you. Full Akra, disabled exhaust servo, RapidBike EVO, and check engine (ERRORS - Engine) since header install (all other gear listed installed prior). Been chasing it with a local Italian mechanic for a long time. He preps race bikes and is an authorized RapidBike dealer. He troubleshot the RB pretty extensively. While he said they can go bad, he thinks mine is working fine. I also have the null plug and the problem persists when disconnected.

Next time I visited he said he thinks it's because of the servo delete. He installed the eliminator plug with no change. Then he said he would need the stock midpipe with servo to reset the servo module in the ECU. I have not done this flapper reset but I'm skeptical it's the culprit.

On my own, I've replaced the O2's and swapped the forward coil with one of the Aprilia units. I'll do the top cylinder when I pull the tank for service soon but the chances it clears the sell feel very unlikely. All in all, it runs OK. I think my intake manifold(s) are shot which has been causing it to run a bit rough and slightly down on power. If I'm really lucky, I torched one of the cylinders...

I have HM 821 SP 2013 29k kilometers and have "Can line error". Can filter was not mounted.

Is it possible to fix the ECU and Dashboard by mechanics ?
or if the motorcycle has not been serviced by a ducati service it will be repaired for free in ducati serviced ?

Probably depends on the dealer and whether they can do a goodwill repair. This is a known issue, but being out of warranty may be a problem. I'm not sure if the dash can be fixed by itself.

Bike is back from dealer. So far everything is changed and new on my HypeRstrada 2013 at no cost so really appreciated all the help at Ducati Guatemala.

same problem as the op. out of nothing when starting the hypermotard 821 sp 2013 warning lights on, tachometer flashing and abs indication. fan blowing al the time.bike would run but in limp mode. went to the dealer. he said it was a fried dashboard. got the recal Canfilter in 2019 dealer could not read any errors from the bike. he replaced the filter but no joy.
so today is installed new dash and 2 new ignition coils and......still same problem.
when looking in to the error is says abs and engine. when driving it the speedometer goes on and off random. also headlight is going on and off sometimes. I get a short tacoreading but very short.
try to wiggle the cables from the dash for broking wires but nothing. think dasboard is not the problem. ecu should be fine cause bike is running en driveable in limpmode.tl tomorrow is will take him to the dealer again

any ideas? 20210628_145856_copy_1612x907.jpg
