2014 update report ?

1200 km on my new strada and I get the same brake noise described in past posts. My dealer says its a known issue that will not affect safety and has no solution. Did any of you found a viable long term solution ? Is this a common issue ?
Will appreciate your comments.

I cleaned my discs and pads. Put copper slip on the rear of pads and scuffed up the discs eith sand paper. Had no noises for the last 1000 miles.

I have 20000km on ma strada now, first pads and rotors. Sounds still coming but never any failures

There's plenty of thread on here regarding noisy brakes. I had rotors swapped twice, the second time they fitted brembo race rotors. It's the bads. I finally swapped for EBC HH's and put brake quiet on the backs. Noise is gone.

Resurfacing and swapping rotors will only mask it for a while. I will say that despite the noise and grinding through the lever, they worked very well.

I have some brake squeak occurring in the rear when the bike almost comes to a complete stop. It is in for first service tomorrow so I'll cover with the dealer and see if they can determine and remedy. I'll report progress improvement soon.

My back brake is squeaking lately but brakes are overrated...

Same noise here. I was really gentle on te brakes the first 150km. But the cheap original pads got probably glazed. They will be replaced tomorrow for better after market pads.

OK, brake pads got replaced today. The noise is not completely gone, but doesn't sound anymore like a stoppig train.
So the discs are partly to blame too.

Make sure you really, really clean the rotors. You have a good layer of old pad material on there still if you didn't. My preferred method is brake cleaner and a Scotchbrite.

I agree, but when I once put a set of Galfer 'wave' rotors and fresh EBC HH pads on my '95 Triumph they chattered like mad, all the time. Cleaned everything twice but could not make it stop. When I called Galfer to complain, I was told to never use brake cleaner on them!

They are obviously off my 'approved vendor' list. There are plenty of alternatives. I changed to a new set of OEM rotors and all was well.

I was told race application rotors will chatter a bit more than standards as they have more play around the spindles due to higher temps they are designed to reach.

I have no complaints with my race spec rotors and EBC HH pads, however.
