Fuel "Adders" for the 821/939, anyone tried them?

That's way too much money for some plugs, a fancy box, and a resistor.

That's also just a band aid that wastes fuel.

A better solution is to pay the money for a proper tune.

I agree to some extent on the cost. It seems like the cost gap between a "strap on" system that assists with the problem area that exists and a full up tuner is pretty big. Question remains, has anybody actually used either one of these?

I think the servo eliminator I used on my z1000 was shift tech. It did what it was supposed to do and was a solidly built product. For what it's worth. I wouldn't expect a miracle. But I can definitely see how that could be useful (if that trick is actually a solution, I can't speak to that)

A member over at the Scrambler forums has confirmed on a dyno that the boosterplug seems to work. Who knows the circumstances under which it was tested, but I'm sure that these AIT modifications work correctly.

What I think is the biggest drawback to these is that they mess with the ambient temp reading on the dash. I'd rather fix the problem at the source with a Rapidbike unit. YMMV. I'm saving to get a Rapidbike.

Good article, to bad the company that makes the cheaper Accelerator Module doesn't support Ducati's. might be worth a try. I am really not all that unhappy with mine. I removed the Evap canister, disconnected the flapper cable, and installed an Akrapovic slip on. The bike runs a lot smoother at lower rpms with no surging. I still get some revs and pops during downshifting, but that is about it.

This reminds me of the companies that sold the "booster" that you just plugged into your cars cigarette lighter...

But, if it's actually adjusting sensor input readings, that should help richen the mixture down low. Either way, you have to remap somehow if you want to help the factory setting for idle/ low rpm.

Why not just drop a few more bones and do it the right way with a tuner that gives much more versatility, I say.

Ok, I'm gonna hi-jack my own thread. What would really be cool is a replacement ECU and/or Tuner that is adjustable in all parameters, Auto-tunes with wide band O2 sensors, and maintains all the bikes dash functions. I think there is also potential for the flapper valve to be programmed to assist with torque improvements in the lower rpm range. I had an older FZ-1 back in the day that had a flapper valve in the collector that varied back pressure to improve mid-range torque, it worked well. That bike made about 75lbs of torque at 6500 rpms if my memory is correct, with carbs no less.

Aside from the flapper tuning thing, you're looking at two options. The Rapidbike EVO which adjusts fuel parameters and tricks the O2 sensors. Or, the Rexxer EVO to disable O2 sensors and the Power Commander to make a custom fuel map on your own. Both the RB and PC have wideband sensor add-on options to do more precise on the fly tuning.

RB also has a quick shifter you can plug and play, which I thought was cool.
