After Market Accessories (farkles)

Nice. So you said you can actually prop your feet up on the frame sliders and change up the position, right? They certianly look big enough.

Hello from Colombia !!!!!

Somebody knows were i can to buy crash bars for my new Hyperstrada?

Greatings Diego

Hola!

No one is making crash bars yet to my knowledge unless your talking about the frame sliders....

Strada, did you do this without buying a an axle nut socket? I think I have those metric sizes for my impact gun.

I have a special socket from Speedymoto for both rear axle nuts. I also have a new titanium nut that I never got to putting on my Monster before I sold it. But you will not need the socket to install the sliders. The kit has a tube tapped at both ends the the slider pucks are attached to it with socket head screws. Basically the same on the front too. The pucks have a shoulder that slips inside the the spindle. The spindle ID is different on each side so one of the pucks works on the left side and the other puck goes on the right.

On a leap of faith I ordered the water pump guard and side stand foot from ALT rider mainly because they would give me the time of day and Touratech couldn't be bothered and I like the idea behind the water pump guard better than those offered elsewhere.

This is Multistrada 1200 parts obviously because no one currently lists parts for the Hyperstrada. Well they fit as I suspected and I'm glad for it!

I will probably do the radiator guard and tail rack next.

I'm pretty sure the Speedymoto frame sliders will protect the pump and other auxilaries below them.

The stand foot is nice touch, but I honestly but my bike on center stand 99% of time - had a random person sit on and drop my bike in college and have feared side stands ever since.

Frame sliders will work just fine on the pavement but the irregular surfaces encountered off road may or may not be defeated by them besides frame sliders detract from the lines of the bike.
For example

Well, crap. Think I put a bit too much trust in the sliders. They are a bit uglier than full fairing bike pucks but I'm also not going off-road. I'm more concerned about eating holes through my trans/crank covers.

Coming from someone who has already dropped their pretty new bike, I have a bone to pick with some design decisions. The rear brake and gear pegs should be a replacable on the lever - the pegs are stamped into the lever and boom, what could be a $20 fix is now $100 for entire lever. The mirrors snap in a way that requires buying the entire assembly, as well.

My drop was very benign - just washed it so it was wet and very hot in FL, so my sweaty hands just lost it. Luckily my wifes new car was there to break the fall...There was a barely noticeable rub on the hand guard, some very minor scratches on mufflre shield and the bent shifter peg, which snapped trying to straighten out.

FYI, I drilled the peg hole and ran a 3/16" bolt with lock washer/nut through the lever, then wrapped in electrical tape. Worked like a champ.

Ok, thanks. Do you use Fay Myers for service? Any other dealers in Denver I should consider?

I have used both Fay and Erico for service and have had good luck with both, been useing Fay lately because they are right around the corner from me but I enjoy the atmosphere of Erico much better!

I have seen the kind of damage that frame sliders can do to the frame to the point the some insurance providers won't cover the damage stating that had the bike not had the sliders on them the damage wouldn't have been so savior meaning the frame slider caused the frame to be bent totaling the bike.

Its funny you talk about the mirrors I was backing out of a parking spot and clipped the right mirror on a concrete pillar that caused the mirror to break in 3 places. I couldn't believe it caused that much damage with such little effort.

I don't like that fact that the shift lever and break lever don't fold and you proved they will snap off.

I'm sorry for your loss"¦..

Jer, you have good points about sliders I wasn't aware of. However, I mostly have them to protect from the stupid drop while moving or parking - slow speed stuff that I don't want leaving me stranded. For high speed get off's, that's what I pay the insurance company for.

The Mirrors...again, bad and costly design on another consumable item. They attach the rotating joint and seal the cuff in a way that you must replace entire mirror, which is about $120 retail...that 10% merch deal from my dealer is really paying off.

Bike was actually fine expect for what I listed. Had the bags off and all the pretty painted stuff/plastic were unscathed. The door on my 2013 SportWagen broke most of the fall, and that actually hurt more.

Oh, I snatched the bike up from horizontal with relative ease.

I think the bike could benifet from a tinted or black maybe matt black wind screen, has anyone seen any of these anywhere?

well I had thought about that but the mounting lugs would pose a problem, then there is the plastic etching black spray paint from the inside...

Yes I was thinking more the tinted paint that some detailers use, when i worked at Bentley they used to spray tint the windows, It would only be a problem if the spray reacted with the plastic. You go 1st and let me know how you get on lol :D
